Performance Xport Frame Adapter
Performance, Inc. Announces Recall of Performance Xport Frame Adapter, Item #: 40-1635
Performance, Inc., of Chapel Hill, NC, is voluntarily recalling the Performance Xport Frame Adapter. Some adapters have defective latching mechanisms. In the defective ones the seatpost hook and stem hook gates can come open in use. If this happens the bike may fall from the rack and be damaged.
The Xport Frame Adapters was only sold through Performance Stores, via the Performance web site: performancebike.com and through Performance catalogs.
They were sold from August 5, 2003 through to August 27, 2003.
Consumers should stop using the frame adapters immediately and return them for replacement or refund. For a refund or store credit return them to the nearest Performance Store. For credit or to exchange them for the Thule 982 Frame Adapter return to Performance Inc., Attn: Returns Dept. (Xpt Adapter Recall), 1 Performance Way, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.

Pedro's Bio Degreaser 14-ounce Aerosol Can
We were made aware of several instances in which cans containing this product were found to have ruptured or burst. Shortly after receiving this news, Pedro's initiated a series of laboratory tests to research the situation. It was concluded that the Bio Degreaser used in several batches was corroding the aluminum can wall and creating a weak point in the can resulting in potential rupture. This situation can be extremely hazardous.
Only Pedro's 14-ounce Aerosol cans with the 'Domed Shoulder' (figure 1) are affected by this problem. 14-ounce cans featuring the 'ridged shoulder' (figure 2) do not pose any risk; they are safe and can be sold as usual.
Pedro's popular Bio Degreaser will continue to be available in 12-ounce, 32-ounce, and 1 Gallon sizes. These items are not affected by this problem. We have already made needed adjustments to our Bio formula to ensure that this will not occur in future shipments of the 14-ounce Aerosol version.
